Don’t forget to add a cute little wastebasket to toss junk mail into ASAP. Think ahead by designating a spot for mail, wallet, keys, and shoes. Little clutter may be the most annoying type, and the entryway often becomes the landing zone for it all. “This setup allows you to see everything in one go and get more use and combinations out of the clothes you have,” says Grochowski, noting that this system will also curb your shopping spree. Place long hanging dresses in one area, short tanks in another, integrate drawers for folded sweaters, shelves for shoes, hats, and bags, and hooks for belts and scarves. Organizing your pantry with risers, bins, and baskets will go a long way in maximizing space. Keep colorful and chic appliances you use most often-such as a Keurig coffee maker and a toaster-on the counter for a pop of color. Silverware and knife organizers are an obvious must, she says, but go a step further with cutting board and cookie sheet dividers for long vertical cabinets.
